Ron Helwig

Back when I was in the army, I could have gone "hard-core" and been a gung-ho soldier. Thankfully a friend of mine had introduced me to Arlo Guthrie in high school. I spent a lot of time listening to Arlo's music, which I contend saved me from a life of soldiering. I considered Arlo my personal saviour.

When I was in college, I went to a party at a local hotel. It was in the middle of winter, and a massive storm was coming in, so I left early. Just my luck, about an hour after I left, Arlo's tour bus stopped there to escape the storm. Arlo made an appearance at the party I was told the next day. Damn. That's my "Arlo story".

Arlo is a famous folk singer. You would expect that he would tend towards the democrats and liberals. Well, surprisingly today we got the great news that Arlo has endorsed Ron Paul ! Once again, Arlo brings joy to my life.
